The 2012 Canon AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards held in Melbourne this year unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the judging which was disapointing as there was some spectacular work being judged. After a good showing at the EPSON NSW PPA earlier in the year with the NSW commercial photographer of the year -runner up I was delighted to see two of my images receive Silver awards at the Canon APPA’s in the commercial category.
The 2012 Epson NSW Professional Photography Awards (NSWIPP) were conducted earlier this year where a number of my images did well enough to land me the NSW commercial photographer -runner up 2012. A great year with some great clients, RPtecture and the team at Clipsal by Schneider Electric
I always find great locations when I take random turns off the main roads, or take a heading and drive in that direction just to see whats there. In Switzerland I took one to many turns and ended up at this fork in the road a few times. So what else do you do when you are lost, take a picture of course.
Driving into Interlarken, Switzerland on dusk was a was a surprisingly calm affair, we were told that because we had French number plates that the Swizters would give us wide berth as the French are apparently poor drivers. We pulled up at local cafe on Lake Brienz and grabbed a coffee, sat on the park bench and watched this scene parade in front of us. The subtle colours of the dusk across the milk pond calm lake were amazing, the jeans frozen to the park bench upon leaving not so much.
Driving from Mount Gambier to Adelaide you pass one of South Australia’s overlooked wonders. The Coorong National Park is a home to a vast number of migratory birds, flora, fauna and forms part of the mouth of the Murray River. At the time this image was made the area had had very little waterflow from upstream for over a decade leaving the lagoon looking very desolate.
